An unforgettable evening celebrating the people and values that define Boston’s legal community: service, leadership, inclusion, and community. This year’s event will feature the presentation of the Haskell Cohn Award to former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer in recognition of his distinguished career and lasting contributions to the law.
Beacon Award
On February 26, 2026, members joined us for a milestone celebration of the 16th Annual Beacon Award. We honored those who are shaping a more inclusive future for our profession and community. Over the past 16 years, we have celebrated groundbreaking leaders who have forged bold paths in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
John & Abigail Adams Benefit
The signature fundraising event of the Boston Bar Foundation took place on Saturday, April 11. The Adams Benefit is one of the largest events of the Boston legal community, welcoming more than 1,000 attendees annually to support the work of the BBF in our community.
Late Night at the Museum
Part of the Adams Benefit, Late Night at the Museum is an event that brings together law students and newer lawyers to meet, dine and dance and as they get to know each other and begin to lay the groundwork for successful careers in the law.
The Haskell Cohn Distinguished Judicial Service Award
The Haskell Cohn Award is presented annually to a member of the Massachusetts judiciary, or a resident of Massachusetts who was a member of the Federal judiciary, and has distinguished themselves in a manner that calls for special recognition. Formerly presented at a standalone event, the Award will now be given during Spirit of the Bar on September 24, 2026. The BBA is proud to honor former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer as this year’s recipient.
