One Year Post-Dobbs: Educating, Convening, and Advocating for Reproductive Rights
Last year, the BBA expressed dismay at the US Supreme Court’s majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization issued on June 24th, 2022, which revoked the constitutionally recognized federal right to abortion, overturning Roe v. Wade. We continue to be concerned about Dobbs’ potential implications for the constitutional right to privacy, and the decision’s ongoing effect on the civil rights of many Americans and pregnant individuals. We remain committed to educating our members and the public on the challenging novel issues this ruling raised, and have convened a number of panels and programs on the complex legal and health care landscape post-Dobbs.
