Walk to the Hill Breakfast and Lobbying Event to Be Held January 25

Press Release

Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid is one of the largest lobbying events held in Massachusetts. This annual event is critical to obtaining state funding for civil legal services. Each January, hundreds of private attorneys and civil legal aid advocates converge on the Massachusetts State House to demonstrate their support for the MLAC line-item, which goes toward legal-services providers statewide.

Walk to the Hill brings legal aid and the private bar together for the cause of equal access to justice for all, and the BBA is a partner in the Equal Justice Coalition, which sponsors the event.

Are you new to Walk to the Hill and worried you won’t know what to say? Or are you an old pro looking to polish your talking points? Join us at the BBA for a networking breakfast, a primer on civil legal aid, and tips for talking with your legislators and their staff. Our Director of Government Relations, Michael Avitzur, will review the budget request for this year as well as key talking points.

Can’t join us for breakfast? The BBA contingent will leave 16 Beacon St. at 10:45 a.m. to head to the State House.
