Spring 2014 BBJ Explores Legal Community’s Response to Boston Marathon Tragedy

To recognize the upcoming anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings, the Spring edition of the Boston Bar Journal, the Association’s premiere quarterly publication, will feature a suite of four viewpoint articles that explore attorneys’ experiences responding to the tragedy. The articles each offer a different perspective – from undertaking pro bono work with individuals, to dealing with insurance complications in small business assistance and helping with the formation of the One Fund:

• The Boston Bar Association’s Marathon Assistance Project: One Year Later by David S. Clancy, Christopher G. Clark, and Emily Jennings (Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom)

• Pro Bono Experience: Boston Marathon Bombing Victim by Shannon C. Kirk (Ropes & Gray)

• The Boston Marathon Bombing One Year Later:  Insurance Coverage for Business Raises Concerns by Jon C. Cowen and Rosanna Sattler (Posternak Blankstein & Lund)

• Disaster Relief: The One Fund Boston Model by Susan L. Abbott and Lisa A.H. McChesney (Goodwin Procter)

This edition will cover topics including data breaches, personal privacy, zoning laws, and easements, and will also feature articles by Judge Nathaniel Gorton (U.S. District Court) and retired Judge Nancy Gertner (Harvard Law School).

The BBJ Spring Edition will be released on April 2, 2014.
