The Boston Bar Association is pleased to announce that the legal department of Spartan Race, Inc. joined as a sponsor, supporting the BBA’s mission to advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, serve the community at large, and promote diversity and inclusion.
Originating in Vermont’s Green Mountains by adventure racer Joe Desena, Spartan has evolved from a sporting event to a global lifestyle brand, and includes a community, a philosophy, training, nutrition and educational platforms, a podcast, a series of books, a workout gear brand, a media channel, two shows on NBC, and a digital magazine.
“The BBA has played a significant role throughout my professional career, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of this stalwart of the Boston legal community,” said Darren Braham, General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Spartan Race, Inc. “I am delighted to be able to give back in this manner and look forward to many years of growing the relationship.”
Spartan hosts more than 130 races around the world each year, with three core races escalating in distance, obstacle count and challenge level. Its courses are known for their signature obstacles: mud, barbed wire, walls, rope and spear throws. In addition, Spartan offers races for children and for racers with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
