Lisa Goodheart Takes Office as President of Boston Bar Association

Lisa C. Goodheart, a litigation partner at Sugarman, Rogers, Barshak & Cohen, where she focuses on environmental, real estate and business disputes, today takes office for a one year term as President of the Boston Bar Association (BBA). She is a former Chair of the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission, a past President of New England Women in Real Estate, and has been active in the American Bar Association as a member of the Standing Committee on Environmental Law.

Goodheart will be the third lawyer from her firm to lead the BBA; the two others are Anthony Doniger and Edward Barshak. She is a graduate of Williams College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. A staunch supporter of the performing arts, she has served on the boards of several dance organizations. She lives in Brookline, MA with her husband and two daughters.

Joining her as BBA officers are: President-Elect J.D. Smeallie, a partner at Holland & Knight; Vice-President Paul T. Dacier, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, EMC Corporation; Treasurer Julia Huston, a partner at Foley Hoag; and Secretary Carol A. Starkey, a partner at Conn Kavanaugh Rosenthal Peisch & Ford. Goodheart succeeds Donald R. Frederico of Pierce Atwood as BBA President.
