As of today, the Boston Bar Foundations’ (BBF) John & Abigail Adams Benefit, with John Fish of Suffolk Construction Company, Inc. as its honoree, has raised $545,000 — from a broad spectrum of 68 law firms and businesses. With some 1,000 guests expected to descend on the MFA’s New Art of the Americas Wing and the January 14th registration deadline looming, there is still time to purchase tickets for the BBF’s premier fundraiser.
“This is not your grandfather’s ball — in a drab hotel ballroom as the speeches go on and on,” said BBF Trustee Janet Bostwick of Janet E. Bostwick, PC. “Instead, the BBF will take over the entire MFA — with guests freely wandering the galleries, mingling, networking and enjoying cocktails, dinner, music and dancing on their own schedule. No worries about the ‘firm table’ — there are no assigned tables, so guests are free to make their own choices.”
The BBF advances access to justice and supports innovative community outreach programs providing unique opportunities for lawyers to serve our community. Proceeds from the 2010 John & Abigail Adams Benefit provided grants to 25 legal aid providers serving these and other critical needs: assistance for victims of domestic violence, veterans and their families, and preventing homelessness.
