BOSTON – Boston Bar Association President Jack Regan today reported that EMC Corporation’s legal department has joined the roster of BBA Sponsor Firms. EMC is the world’s leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions that enable organizations of all sizes to transform the way they compete and create value from their information.
“The BBA provides lawyers with an important platform for professional growth, leadership development, and serving the community,” said Paul T. Dacier, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at EMC. “Becoming an institutional member of the BBA is an important step that we are delighted to take.”
Dacier leads the worldwide legal affairs of EMC and its subsidiaries, with 70 lawyers in EMC’s 115-person legal organization. Additionally, he oversees the company’s internal audit, real estate and facilities organizations, as well as its government affairs and aviation departments. Dacier is an active member of the BBA Executive Committee; served as Co-Chair of the BBA’s Planning Committee; and has been a panelist on several continuing legal education seminars convened by the BBA.
“The BBA benefits greatly from Paul’s talent and leadership, and extends an enthusiastic welcome to the rest of his team,” said Regan. “The BBA stands at the crossroads of the legal profession, and provides important opportunities for the free and open exchange of ideas among members of the bar working in-house at corporations, at law firms of all sizes, at legal services organizations, at state and federal regulatory agencies, and on the state and federal bench.”
