Furthering its core mission of facilitating access to justice, the Boston Bar Association (BBA) is pleased to unveil its enhanced Lawyer Referral Service (LRS), now featuring online referrals through its website, www.bostonbarlawyer.org . The new online referral capacity will allow the public throughout the Greater Boston region to connect with attorneys across more than 350 areas of law, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
“With this increased referral capacity, the LRS can better assist members of the public seeking to conduct their search for a lawyer online,” said Solana Goss, Lawyer Referral Service Manager for the BBA. “Legal concerns can arise at any time; and, when people are worried about those issues, they want to look for guidance right away. This will make it easier for people to find a trusted attorney whenever they need.”
In addition to connecting through the website, individuals in need of legal assistance can continue to contact LRS intake staff by phone Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (617) 742-0625. There is no charge to access the LRS to get referrals; and, an initial half-hour consultation with an attorney through the LRS will never cost more than $25.
For more than 60 years, the LRS has been a dependable and trustworthy source for the Greater Boston community to access referrals for the critical legal help they need. All attorneys are in good standing with the bar, have malpractice insurance coverage, and meet BBA LRS requirements. The LRS makes nearly 9,000 referrals every year. Attorneys, community organizations, and local officials are also encouraged to direct folks in need of legal assistance to the LRS as a readily accessible resource.
