BBA President Paul T. Dacier Applauds Progress on Domestic Violence Legislation

Press Release

In response to today’s joint announcement by Speaker DeLeo and Attorney General Coakley on their domestic violence legislation, BBA President Paul T. Dacier issued the following statement:

“The Boston Bar Association is grateful to Speaker DeLeo and Attorney General Coakley for their leadership advancing legislation that will improve the criminal justice system’s response to domestic violence. We understand from our own work with the courts and legal services that victims of domestic violence are some of the most vulnerable members of society. We need to ensure access to justice for all of our citizens especially victims of domestic violence. Thank you to Speaker DeLeo and Attorney General Coakley for once again demonstrating a steadfast commitment to public safety.”

The BBA will pay close attention to this bill and we look forward to working with the Legislature on this important public safety issue.
