Boston Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service to House Military Legal Help Line
As part of the Boston Bar Association's ongoing efforts to
provide crucial legal assistance to military personnel and veterans, the Boston Bar Association Lawyer
Referral Service will now house the Military Legal Help Line. This line was
established to connect veterans, military personnel, and their families with
lawyers and other legal resources appropriate to their needs. The service will
refer callers to qualified attorneys offering reduced fee and pro bono legal
assistance or the appropriate government or non-profit agency. All attorneys on
the Lawyer Referral Service who have elected to take these cases are trained to
assist with the unique legal issues faced by members of the military and their
families.
The Boston Bar
Association Lawyer Referral Service and the Military Legal Help Line can be
reached at 617-742-0625 or 1-800-552-7046. Their website is www.bostonbarlawyer.org.
The Boston Bar Association traces its origins to meetings convened by John Adams, who provided pro bono representation to the British soldiers prosecuted for the Boston Massacre and went on to become the nation’s second president. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, facilitate access to justice, serve the community at large and promote diversity and inclusion.
