The Boston Bar Foundation's 2017 Casino Night Co-Chairs Are Going All-In

Save the date—the Boston Bar Foundation’s 8th annual Casino Night fundraiser will take place on Thursday, April 20th from 6 PM to 9 PM at 16 Beacon Street. This year’s fundraising steering committee will be chaired by Alexis Theriault of Conn Kavanaugh Rosenthal Peisch & Ford, LLP and Paul Momnie of Goulston & Storrs PC. In its 8th year, Casino Night remains one of the BBF’s most popular events. Over 200 lawyers and law students fill the building at 16 Beacon Street, which is turned into a two-story Casino for the event—complete with craps tables, roulette, a DJ, silent auction, and more.

“Casino Night is my favorite BBF event,” Theriault said of why she volunteered as co-chair. “While you are having fun with friends and colleagues gambling away fake money, you’re also helping to raise real money to support the M. Ellen Carpenter Fund and the BBA’s Summer Jobs Program.”

Last year, sponsors and attendees raised over $45,000, the net proceeds of which were dedicated to the M. Ellen Carpenter Fund to support the BBA Summer Jobs Program. The program places Boston youth in full-time, paid summer jobs with area law firms, non-profits, and government organizations. Because of last year’s incredible turnout, the BBA was able to place 58 students in law firms throughout the city, and the BBF helped to fund non-profit and government jobs for 10 additional students.

“I was fortunate enough to have a mentor who helped guide me through the many tough decisions in pursuing a legal career,” said Momnie about his appreciation of the program. “I think the BBA Summer Jobs Program is a great way for young men and women, who might not otherwise have that opportunity, to find mentorship in the profession.” To learn more about the Carpenter Fund and the Summer Jobs Program click here.

Up the ante this year and bet it all with the BBF to support Boston’s youth. Buy your ticket today.
