BBA to Recognize Private Industry Council for Commitment to Boston Youth

The Boston Bar Association will honor the Private Industry Council (PIC) with the BBA President’s Award on May 12, 2014 at the annual Law Day Dinner, in recognition of their commitment to providing educational and employment opportunities to Boston’s youth.  The Private Industry Council partners with the Boston Bar Association through the Summer Jobs Program, connecting the BBA to the Boston Public Schools.  The PIC career specialists in each Boston Public School work tirelessly to help select the best candidates for the program, help students with applications and provide resume writing and interview workshops.  Last year, the PIC’s School-to-Career initiative placed over 3,100 students in a job or internship, opening doors and giving valuable work experience to these Boston teens.

“Through our partnership with the BBA, an ever increasing  number of Boston public high school students are introduced to professional environments they would never see otherwise" said PIC Executive Director Neil Sullivan.  "The results are transformative.”

The Law Day Dinner is one of the largest bench bar events in Massachusetts, and will take place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center on May 12, 2014.  Please join us as we honor the PIC and welcome keynote speaker Mayor Martin J. Walsh.  Reserve a table or tickets online or by calling (617) 778-1930.
