Pro Bono Month was jam-packed with trainings and volunteer opportunities to
encourage attorneys to give back to our community. Here’s what the BBA has done
to celebrate this month:
• Five pro bono trainings that prepared
206 attorneys and law students to engage in pro bono work.
• Connected
250 new attorneys and law students with 28 Boston-area legal service agencies
through a Pro
Bono Fair.
• Eleven BBA volunteers judged twenty-two debate rounds,
which allowed nearly 100 students to debate at two Boston Debate League
tournaments this month.
• Twenty-five volunteers took part in the
annual Franklin
Park Clean Up and helped pick up trash and remove an invasive species at the
park in Dorchester.
• PILP 9 wrapped up the Community
Reentry Readiness Program by delivering the seventh
module on employment law to federal probationers.
• Fifty-five mentees began meetings through the BBA
Group Mentoring Program this month.
In case you missed it, Beyond the Billable, the
BBA’s public service blog, was on the scene throughout the month to bring you
