A fund supporting real estate- related pro bono, public service, and civic programs of the Boston Bar Association.

In 1999, the Boston Bar Association (BBA) Real Estate Section, through the outstanding leadership of Herbert W. Vaughan, established BBA Attorney for the Day Program in Boston Housing Court.

Over the past decade, teams of volunteers from law firms, solo practices, and in-house corporate legal departments have provided assistance to unrepresented tenants and landlords on Summary Process day at Boston Housing Court. This program has utilized hundreds of volunteers and provided services to thousands of otherwise unrepresented clients by providing advice outside of the courtroom. In 2006, the project expanded to include a litigation component in which attorneys provide full representation to individuals involved in eviction trials.

In recognition of the 10-year anniversary of the BBA Attorney of the Day Program and the leadership of Mr. Vaughan, the BBA Real Estate Section established the Herbert W. Vaughan Fund. Your contribution will help continue this important work.
