New procedures for handling probate matters will come into effect on January 2, 2012 under the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code (“MUPC”).   The Massachusetts Probate Court has extensively prepared for the implementation of these new procedures.  Those handling probate matters in the Courts must now prepare themselves for the upcoming changes.  The Trusts & Estates Section of the BBA will help you prepare with a CLE course that is designed as a practical guide to the application of the new MUPC to handle probate matters.

Attendees will learn from a panel of experts that include attorneys and Court personnel who have been extensively involved in the implementation of the MUPC in the Probate Court, as well as attorneys involved in the implementation of the MUPC in their own practices.

Program Highlights:

  • Introduction to the new procedures
  • Review of new forms that implement procedures under the MUPC
  • Analysis of procedures available to handle estates more efficiently
  • Guidance for handling matters pending before the January 2, 2012 effective date

This program is designed for attorneys, legal assistants and other professionals who are involved in Probate Court matters.
