The second in a series on access and equity issues in energy will focus on
heat pumps and their role as a major component of the Commonwealth’s
electrification and decarbonization tool kit. The discussion will include
a brief primer on the basics of cold weather heat pumps, available programs and
incentives, and the specific challenges of getting heat pumps installed in
underserved and environmental justice communities in a cost-effective manner for
consumers. Panelists will include experts who have installed heat pumps in
homes as well as those working on programs to make heat pump technology more
broadly available.
