In March of this year, the International Criminal Court (“ICC”) opened an investigation into the situation in Palestine, including the 2014 Gaza War, the 2018–2019 Gaza border protests, and Israeli settlement policy.  Join us to discuss the jurisdictional issue that allowed the ICC to open its investigation, starting with the Prosecutor’s request to the Trial Chamber for an opinion clarifying the territorial scope of ICC jurisdiction.  Despite vocal opposition from worldwide stakeholders, the Court issued a decision that may lay the groundwork for one of the most controversial investigations in ICC history.
