Surveillance technologies raise not only significant concerns about personal privacy, but also over civil liberties. Use of facial recognition by government in particular has been a controversial issue in Massachusetts, with a stronger ban included in police reform legislation being amended to a more regulatory approach in the final version signed by the Governor this past December. Please join us in conversation with Kade Crockford, Director of the Technology for Liberty Program at the ACLU of Massachusetts, to discuss the increasing ubiquity of surveillance technologies and the challenges they pose.
