BBA Webinar: Top 10 Things Practitioners Should Know About International Arbitration

Thursday, January 21, 2021 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

The BBA presents live webinars and virtual events via Zoom. Please register for this program through your BBA account at least two hours before the start time of the program to receive the Zoom webinar link.

International arbitration is a very different creature from arbitrations conducted under domestic rules. An experienced panel of neutrals and practitioners will serve as your guide and identify the key differences. We will then focus on the state of the law regarding 28 U.S.C Section 1782 which permits U.S. courts to grant discovery in aide of proceedings before “a foreign or international tribunal.” Courts are split on whether or not this applies to international arbitral tribunals in private commercial cases and other issues; these may be resolved by the Supreme Court this term.
