Thursday, October 8, 2020 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
On-Line

Description:

The BBA presents live webinars and virtual events via Zoom. Please register for this program through your BBA account at least two hours before the start time of the program to receive the Zoom webinar link.

This webinar will discuss the latest developments in the fast-changing area of immigration detention, including current bond eligibility requirements, what interactions with law enforcement can make a client's detention mandatory, options if your client is subject to mandatory detention, and the burden of proof under the current legal landscape. The goal of the training is to provide practitioners with an up-to-date legal framework and tips on how to best represent their detained clients. To get the most out of the webinar, it is helpful to have a basic familiarity with immigration removal proceedings.
