  • New Developments Committee: The committee will review recent cases involving testamentary capacity and undue influence, the sale of real estate owned by a trust, and whether a wrongful death action can be filed independent of a decedent’s estate.

  • Public Policy Committee: The presentation will include an overview of the Remote Notarization Bill passed by the Massachusetts legislature and updates on the BBA’s support of the Massachusetts Uniform Trust Decanting Act (MUTDA) and Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act (RUFADAA). The committee will also discuss where things stand regarding proposed and pending legislation and an overview of the substantive provisions of the same.

  • Tax Law Updates Committee: The committee will report on important updates regarding the Internal Revenue Code, federal tax law, recent cases, private letter rulings, charitable planning updates, retirement cases and other interesting developments.
