Learn about how you can volunteer with the BBA's M. Ellen Carpenter Financial
Literacy Program and help high school students across Massachusetts build the
foundational skills to make informed and effective decisions regarding their
finances. Keynote speaker State Senator James B. Eldridge will speak about
the importance of financial literacy education for young people, and longtime
volunteers will explain how the program works and how you can get involved!
The Financial Literacy curriculum consists of three classroom modules
covering Personal Finance and Budgeting; Using Credit and Credit Cards; and
Financing a Large Purchase, along with a mock trial presentation in the United
States Bankruptcy Court.
This info session is open to all
attorneys, law students and legal staff interested in volunteering with the
program. It will cover an overview of the program and materials, and explain how
volunteering works.
We hope you will
consider getting involved!
The M. Ellen Carpenter Financial Literacy Program is made possible
through the support of the Boston Bar Foundation's Charles P. Normandin
Fund.
