Thursday, February 27, 2020 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Listen to civil rights and housing law practitioners who use the Indigent Court Costs Act to pay for filing fees, depositions, experts, and more.  In connection with fee-shifting statutes in civil rights and housing matters, the Indigent Court Costs Act presents a way for new and solo attorneys to access a new client base while serving underrepresented persons.  Presenters from De Novo, an organization providing civil legal assistance to low-income persons, will walk attendees through the use of the Indigent Court Costs Act in housing matters specifically and provide training and mentoring to interested attorneys in housing cases as part of their Lawyer for the Day program at the Middlesex Session of Eastern Housing Court.
