Effective October 1, 2018, Massachusetts’ noncompete law received a
legislative overhaul, leaving many employers to wonder:
- What agreements are and are not covered by the new
law?
- What is sufficient consideration to support a
noncompete for employees and new hires (if not garden leave)?
- What best practices should my HR department implement
regarding the technical requirements of the law (e.g., the 10-business-day
requirement)?
- What happens if I terminate an employee without “cause”? And, what is
“cause”?
- Does the new law affect the enforceability of noncompetes predating the
law’s effective date?
At
this event, which will be structured as a roundtable workshop, we will pose
these questions and more to the noncompete experts. We will also
brainstorm practical solutions and discuss best practices. Please come prepared with your best
questions!
