This seminar is the last in a series of three trainings designed to build a
panel of pro bono tax attorneys for the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic at Greater
Boston Legal Services and the Legal Services Center at Harvard Law School.
Most low income taxpayers undergo correspondence audits in lieu of traditional
field audits. These types of audits can be very impersonal in nature and
difficult to understand.
In this training attendees will learn to read an examination report, and the
tools to effectively resolve the case directly with the IRS, Appeals, or Tax
Court if appropriate.
If you missed part 1 or 2, please contact Katie D’Angelo at kdangelo@bostonbar.org for more
information.
In return for attending the free training, attendees are expected to take at
least one pro bono case. Volunteers will have access to the expert resources and
support of the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic throughout their case.
Certificates of attendance will be available.
Law students are welcome to attend but are not eligible to receive
referrals of pro bono cases.
