Description:

Life is full of surprises. Some are welcome, and some aren’t. Whether you’re just starting out or celebrating 25 years helping clients, if you’re a small firm or solo practitioner, an event that interrupts your practice could put an end to it if you don’t have a plan in place.

The good news? You can take steps now to protect yourself, your clients and your practice. This practical program is intended to provide guidance and action-based checklists so that there are controls in place if you need them. This is a program no small or solo practitioner should miss!

Representatives from the Office of Bar Counsel and the Law Office Management Assistance Program will share first-hand experience, identify issues, and provide protocols and succession planning tips for you and your practice.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • What you need to do in the event you are suddenly unable to work or need to attend to an important personal issue.
  • What plans you need to have in place so others are ready to step in if needed.
  • How to structure your business operations to ensure there is a plan to attend to critical client needs, guard against malpractice issues, protect your employees and shield your family.
