Peter Tobani currently serves as an Assistant General Counsel leading a shared solutions legal team within Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Global Legal & Compliance Department. In his current role, he oversees a team of specialized attorneys and paralegals that support legal work across its two main business units, Global Risk Solutions and US Retail Markets. Prior to going in-house, Peter practiced at several law firms in the Boston area.

During his time at Liberty Mutual, he participated in and oversaw the Discovering Justice’s Stand Up for Your Rights program, an after-school program for middle school students to participate in a mock appellate program. He also participated in other pro bono programs, including the Lawyers Clearinghouse and Medical Legal Partnership. He is a board member for the Massachusetts Appleseed Center for Social Justice.

At the BBA, Peter previously served as a Co-Chair of the In-House Lawyers Forum Committee and a member of the Insurance and Tort Litigation and Business and Commercial Litigation Sections. He is a former member of the Law Day Steering Committee. Peter is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law and of Binghamton University.
