Kristopher “Neil” Austin is a litigator who represents clients including startups and early-stage companies in business disputes arising from mergers, acquisitions, and securities-related matters, complex commercial litigation, and in claims of false advertising and deceptive trade practices. Neil has represented and advised companies under investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Attorney’s Office related to the sale of securities, company disclosures, advertising and marketing practices and accounting and audit issues. In addition to his business disputes and securities-related experience, he also advises clients in Lanham Act litigation involving false and misleading advertising claims. At the BBA, Neil is a member and former Co-Chair of the Amicus Committee, and an alumnus of the Public Interest Leadership Program. He has served as a Board Member and Executive Committee Member of Lawyers for Civil Rights and was recognized by the Supreme Judicial Court for pro bono representation of immigrant detainees.
