Megan Gates

President-Elect She/Her/Hers

Megan is a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, where she is a member of the Corporate Section. She advises life sciences companies with respect to public and private equity financings, merger and acquisition transactions, and compliance and disclosure obligations under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. She is President-Elect of the BBF and a member of the BBF Executive Committee, the Grants Committee, and the Joint Finance Committee. She has served as a member of the 2017 Strategic Planning Committee, the Annual Meeting Steering Committee, and the Law Day Steering Committee. Megan has also served as Co-Chair of the BBA’s Business Transactions Section, the Securities Law Committee, and the Adams Benefit Steering Committee, and co-chaired the Adams Benefit in both 2016 and 2021. Megan is a member of the BBF Society of Fellows. She is also a member of the Boards of Directors of the Pine Street Inn and the Japan Society of Boston, and is a member of the Philanthropic Trust of the Boston Medical Center.

Megan is a graduate of Wellesley College and Boston College Law School.
