Joe is the Chair of the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the Private Client Group at Hemenway & Barnes. He concentrates his practice in the areas of probate, trust, real property, and business litigation. He also provides counsel to individuals and families on estate planning and probate matters and serves as a trustee of many private and charitable trusts. He was named to the Massachusetts Super Lawyers List from 2009-2020 and has authored several published articles on trust law, estate administration, and nonprofit law. Joe is a Senior Vice President of Hemenway Trust Company, a New Hampshire-based private fiduciary firm. He is former Co-Chair of the BBA’s Trusts and Estates Steering Committee, a member of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Joe is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and University of San Francisco School of Law.
