John is a Supervising Senior Trial Counsel for the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS). He previously was Attorney in Charge of the Boston Superior Court Trial Unit of CPCS between 2009 and 2019. He has been a trial attorney for CPCS since 1990, focusing on representing indigent criminal defendants in murder, homicide, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and other serious felony cases, primarily in the Superior Court. John is currently serving on the BBA Amicus Committee[John Hayes] , BBA Executive Committee, and has served as Co-Chair of the BBA’s Criminal Law Section. John has been an avid panelist and organizer of BBA programs related to criminal law issues, as well as MCLE programs on homicide, criminal law, and trial practice issues. John is a graduate of Boston College Law School, received a BA from Boston University, and a Masters in Political Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
