Carla Barrett is the current Attorney In Charge of the Boston Trial Unit at the Committee for Public Counsel Services – Public Defender Division, where she manages a large office, tries cases, and liaises with various stakeholders in the field. She has been a trial attorney with CPCS since 2006, where she has represented indigent adult criminal defendants in the Brockton District Court, the Suffolk Superior Court, the Chelsea District Court, and various divisions of the Boston Municipal Court on misdemeanor and serious felony charges. Carla is former Co-Chair of the BBA’s Criminal Law Section. Beyond the BBA, Carla has volunteered as an elections poll worker in Somerville, MA since 2020. She is a graduate of Colorado College and New England Law | Boston.
