Andrew J. Merken is a Corporate, Venture Capital, M&A and Securities Partner at Burns & Levinson LLP, where he Co-Chairs both the Life Sciences Group and the Securities Group. Andy focuses on corporate and transactional matters for a wide range of clients across the full business life cycle – from start-up to growth stage to sale or public offering. Andy is a long-term member of, and contributor to, the BBA; among other things, he has chaired the Venture Capital and Private Equity Conference, the Business Transactions Section, and the Corporate Law Committee. Andy is committed to community and industry involvement and serves/has recently served on the Audit Committee of Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the Board of Directors of the Penn Club of Boston, the Board of Advisors of the Derby Entrepreneurship Center at Tufts, and the Tufts Alumni Council; he is also the founder of the Tufts Business Leadership Series, an ongoing lunch speaker series featuring prominent Boston-based Tufts alumni. Andy holds a B.A. in Economics from Tufts University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
