For 75 years, the Boston Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service has connected attorneys with individuals and businesses actively seeking legal representation.
Each year, the service receives thousands of requests for legal assistance and refers those clients to participating attorneys across a wide range of practice areas. By joining the Lawyer Referral Service, you can expand your client base, develop new relationships, and grow your practice through referrals from a trusted institution in the Boston legal community.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Lawyer Referral Service, new LRS participants may join the program this year for just $75. This limited-time promotion is available only to attorneys who are new to the Lawyer Referral Service and have not previously participated.

Individuals and businesses submit requests describing their legal issue through the BBA Lawyer Referral Service.
2. Referrals are matched by practice area
Our intake team reviews each request and connects the client with an attorney whose experience aligns with the matter.
3. You schedule the consultation
Participating attorneys contact the referred client directly to schedule the initial consultation.
4. Low barrier for potential clients
Clients are charged no more than $25 for the first 30-minute consultation, making it easy for prospective clients to take the first step and connect with you.

Attorneys who participate in the Lawyer Referral Service must:
Be licensed and in good standing in Massachusetts
Carry professional malpractice insurance
Meet experience requirements for selected practice areas
Maintain active membership with the Boston Bar Association
Additional program guidelines and referral procedures will be provided during the enrollment process.
