Description:
The BBA presents a two part series to prepare pro bono volunteers to work
with Immigrant Youth. Join PAIR's Elizabeth Badger for this introductory pro
bono training on working with undocumented immigrant youth.
In this session, Attorney Badger covers other forms of immigration relief
that undocumented immigrant youth may be eligible for, specifically asylum law
for those who are fleeing persecution, U visa relief for victims of certain
crimes committed in the U.S., and T visa relief for those who are victims of
trafficking. Attorney Badger builds on the practice tips she provided on the
November 9th training and the special considerations attorneys should make when
working with undocumented immigrant youth. She covers how these different forms
of immigration relief can help a minor gain legal status and stability in the
U.S.
Attorney Badger has worked in immigration law for nearly twenty years,
focusing on representing non-citizen children, asylum-seekers, victims of
crimes, and persons in prolonged immigration detention. She is a national expert
in asylum law and has an expertise in working with immigrant
youth.
